Address Heat Wave

☀️ What is a Heat Wave?

A Heat Wave is a period of unusually high temperatures (more than 40–45°C) that typically affects India between March and June. It can cause serious health risks, especially for vulnerable groups.

✅ Do’s

  • Avoid dehydration: Drink water, soup, aam panna, bel sharbat, jal jeera, chaas, or lassi regularly.
  • Support vulnerable groups: Help children, elderly, and outdoor workers stay hydrated. Involve youth in community care.
  • Protect from the sun: Use sunscreen, hats, umbrellas, and wear sunglasses. Wet towels on the neck and head can provide cooling.
  • Stay cool indoors: Use fans, keep curtains closed during the day, and open windows at night for ventilation.
  • Listen to weather updates: Be aware of temperature changes and stay indoors during peak heat hours.
